How To Add Curves To Your Bathroom

When redesigning your bathroom, you’ll probably want to adopt the latest trends, so your newly decorated washroom feels fresh and modern. Well, one of the most popular bathroom trends at the moment is curved edges. Here are some tips on how to add this into the look of your en suite, family bathroom, or cloakroom toilet.

The reason behind curves is to make the room feel more relaxed, with design director at BC Designs Barrie Cutchie telling Living Etc: “Adding curves can introduce a visual rhythm that infuses a more relaxed, softer feel to the space, removing harsh lines and angular corners.”

An easy way to do this is to opt for curved edges for bathtubs, toilets, basins, shower screens and trays, and even vanity units. You could also get rounded mirrors, taps and light fittings that add a softness to the bathroom design.

For the more adventurous, consider arched doors or windows, as this is “visually soothing and leads to a more indulgent, relaxing space”, Mr Cutchie stated.

Make sure you complete the look with soft textures for your finishing touches. This includes clay vases, wood flooring, and natural stone worktops. Plants with rounded leaves also help homeowners embrace nature in their washroom.

You could opt for a peace lily, for instance, which has dark green leaves and spathes measuring 15cm with a white flower and cream spadix at the end. The evergreen plant requires lots of humidity, making bathrooms the ideal place for them. They also help to purify the air, meaning they are not only stylish, but also good for you.
